TEACHING

About fifteen years ago I had the privilege of studying

with one of the greatest music teachers of the last hundred years.

No kidding! Even though it seemed like he was just teaching

jazz and improvisation, what he really taught was

all things musical! How to play within the confines

of any musical style; How to create what you hear

in your head and know what it is!

Specifically he taught his students how to be as good a

musician as they possibly could be with no restrictions.

I was with him for a long time, (not long enough).

To this day I still study his lessons, I have them all on tape,

and still gain new insight each time I hear him speak.

I have taken what I have learned from Linc and developed

my own version of how to teach music and improvisation

for all instruments, with an emphasis on improvisation

in any style of music. Jazz; Rock; Classical; Folk,

Whatever comes up. Underneath all styles is the same music.

Creating music from scratch is one of the most exciting

things a musician can do. This is what I teach.
